Downgrade from Beta

Hello all! At some point, I installed the beta version, and I'm having some issues that appear to be from the beta (I created a clean install and found the clean install works fine).

I've read some other posts that say downgrading isn't possible, and while i'm willing to except that, i'd like to know if it's possible to get some bits of data extracted or maybe backed up, that would make moving to a new install easier. Specifically, my users. My Emby backups have been failing for...... a long time, something i've not been concerned with, as I backup the VM. If anyone has any advice, it would greatly be appreciated!

For reference, the issue i'm currently dealing with is i'm missing around half my media library from the library, but it seems to show up when searching. I did not have this issue in a fresh install of the latest stable version.

@TravelAccountyour best option would be to use the backup feature to restore only user data into your fresh install of stable.

Don't try to restore everything from 4.9 because that will fail.

Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply Luke, I ended up just rebuilding my server. It was faster than troubleshooting the backups failing, and honestly would've been a good time to setup LDAP, but I digress. I was unable to google a solution immediately, but on my new instance I have titles with SXXEXX Episode Title rather than what previously was "Show Title". For example
This Episode of Criminal Minds previously would've been "The Fox" but is now "S1:E7 - Criminal Minds (2005) - S01E07 - The Fox (etc...)"

Any tips on what I can uncheck to get that how I'd like it? I'm sure it's something simple, but I was unable to find a quick answer via google and reading.

Hi, how are those files named and organized?

They are show/season/episode and should be named correctly. Here’s is ful file path for an episode. The redundant season folder isn’t ideal, sure, but this previously wasn’t an issue. I have other shows ordered in similar format without the redundant season number, and they also have the same issue.

One thing you could try is refreshing the metadata on that episode and see if that helps.

I occasionally have a similar problem. In my case, it almost always turns out that the lock option on the edit metadata screen is unaccountably set to locked. I uncheck it, refresh metadata and it pulls the proper metadata fixing the issue. At least, that has worked for me. I do not understand why some files have the metadata locked when scanned into Emby.

Probably a preexisting nfo with the lock set in it.

I think the issue is i set NFO as my metadata when rebuilding Emby, which changing seems to have done the trick.
