Dedicated Trailers Folder or Library

A lot of my backups have included 3rd party movie trailers (Looking at you A24 / Disney). However, when I drop them into ./extras or ./trailers, the Play Trailer feature will play the non-movie trailers. It does not seems to pickup on titles of the actual movie in sub-folder.

I do not want to just toss out these, sometimes higher quality or rare, trailers. It would be fun for them to be slurped into the "Play x trailers before movie starts" option I have enable with premium.

Is there already some way to do this? If not, can it be considered?

Sorry, didn't understand that one - if you have trailer in /trailers subfolder within a Movie or TV show folder, that trailer should play if you click on "Trailer" button. Is it not playing for you?

I have a trailer, that came with the Blu-ray, that is not the trailer for the actual movie. It does play, but I don't want it to play, when I click that button, because it is not really the right trailer for the original movie.

Then you'll have to take it out of \trailers subfolder as filename is irrelevant for items placed there, whatever file (or files) is (are) inside will be associated with/assigned as parent movie/TV show trailer(s).

If you want any random trailer to play, it might work. Never tested that scenario, though.

So this goes back to the original feature request: A Library (like Movie, TV, etc.) with type of "Trailers" that all my random trailers can be dropped in, and accessed through the clients.

I suppose there's already an open request for this or something functionally equivalent. Please join in and contribute to the existing discussion at:
