Hi, I had a very similar problem a couple of months ago when I needed to replace my modem/router and essentially set up a whole new home network. (Though, I am using a Windows PC for the Emby Server, and a Synology NAS for media storage, not Mac.) After connecting all devices, Emby would work correctly on the PC, but I could not cast to my TV or music player (or even see the endpoint devices in the cast options). Also, Emby Android on the TV would not see the server, despite manually entering the server address correctly.

The problem was that Windows, with the new network, was now blocking Emby from getting through the firewall. I found this by going into the Windows Settings>Privacy & security>Firewall & network settings. (I'm not a networking expert so can't really provide more specific details and a MacOS setup would be different anyway.) I also have dynamic IP addresses, but have not had any more issues (so far, for in-home use) since adjusting the firewall settings and giving Emby permission.

I found out how to fix my problem via the green "Connection Help" section shown in your previous screenshot. Perhaps checking your firewall settings is something to try, if you haven't already?

Exactly, I need all that but on a Mac cause I have zero idea where to even begin.

I noticed that I have my Firewall off on Mac as well. The thing I bet it's the issue is that whole dynamic IP crap that I just can't find anywhere 😕

So, I think what he's saying is the root of all evil in this case. Can someone with a Mac help me to do this on my Macbook cuz I have no idea, I mean I did look around online and it's just very confusing to me if I'm being honest.

Are you able to access the macOS server from other device inside your local network?

I can play Emby on my Mac and even with Kodi as well and the FireStick. It’s the Sony OLED and the 4K Sony player that does not do anything even though when I had my old router it never NEVER had an issue (I even bought a new MacBook and I could just download Emby and it played fine)

Sony owners have posted this solution to no Internet connection.  It may work for your TV.

 Settings>Network>Advanced Settings>IPv6 setup>Disable IPv6

Perhaps the TV was reset or you got an automatic Sony online update.  Sometimes, that can change your setup enough and it seems like nothing has changed.  This also can happen with computer OS updates which can result in suddenly things stop working.

So, this is my FireStick 4K right now:

Notice the Emby & Servio logo clearly represented and can access my files just fine.

Now watch my Sony XR 77a80K OLED:

For some reason, Kodi is represented and when I click it, guess what, cannot access bupkis.

And finally, my 4K Sony Blu-Ray:

Same as above.

This is my new Modem: (A Sagemcom)

So anyone who has this info could help, would be very appreciated…

So at this point Emby is good and you just have a problem with Kodi?

Quite honestly it’s the router. That’s what’s been building up. I’m going to change it again later this week.

All right, so I changed the router, now it works. If any of you have a Mac and this happens, you have to change the router.
