Changed WiFi routers. Emby does not respond anywhere.

So, I bought a new router, and now Emby does not work either on my SONY TV and SONY 4K. The only place it does work is on my Firestick TV. I'm quite desperate and I know it's the new modem giving me crap. I have a Mac, and I've read that on Windows that your server does not mark the network as "Public". So, I dunno if it it's that. But like I said quite certain it's the modem. So, any help would be appreciated.

Hi there, sounds like your server's local network address has changed. Try doing a new server connection and manually entering the new server address. Please see if that helps.

How do I do that exactly? I have no idea (sorry)

Well, what exactly happens in the Emby app that you're trying to connect from?

Pretty much nothing. Again, I'm watching content fine on my Firestick, but the rest of my gear, zip. I mean, I even made another account on Emby and it didn't get me nowhere. Even Plex is in on the action meaning that it won't play anything either. Here's a photo: image.thumb.jpeg.77887a42859740d5693e5681a3f4a5f6.jpeg

And here's a picture of the modem:image.thumb.png.88e47f954dc5fdbf2b4641ee71e76ea2.png

So yeah, that's my predicament 😕 Oh, and I did try to put the IP manually and still nothing.

OK so it’s that purple button to enter the server info manually is what I’m referring to. Please try  that. Thanks.

I think it might be my MacBook Pro, tbh...

Oh, just in case, I also have DLNA check marked so it's not that either....

Also are you sure the address you’re entering is the correct server address?

Can you post a server log from startup.

Can you try entering the server address again? Based on this screenshot it looks like you entered the wrong address. Thanks.

is your server ip address changing as it is .5 now not .4.

Sounds like you need to ensure your Emby server has a static ip address.

@GrimReapercan you edit the image above.

I did put the right address, because I noticed as well and yet zero. It does not let me in. And how do I put the static IP then?

You might need to setup your router correctly, you need to enable static IP and port forwarding. Setup a rule to send your emby server port 8096 to the correct IP address.  Every router has a different setup but you should be able to Google your router to find instructions for both fixing the internal emby server ip address and to create port forwarding.

But you entered 192.168.0.4 and your screenshot from the server shows 192.168.0.5, right?

I entered the one that ended on 0.5. Nothing.

I think I'll just delete this Mac and that'll be it. I really have no other options. It sucks but hey, what can you do.

Hi, what do you mean by "delete this mac" ?

Hi, I had a very similar problem a couple of months ago when I needed to replace my modem/router and essentially set up a whole new home network. (Though, I am using a Windows PC for the Emby Server, and a Synology NAS for media storage, not Mac.) After connecting all devices, Emby would work correctly on the PC, but I could not cast to my TV or music player (or even see the endpoint devices in the cast options). Also, Emby Android on the TV would not see the server, despite manually entering the server address correctly.

The problem was that Windows, with the new network, was now blocking Emby from getting through the firewall. I found this by going into the Windows Settings>Privacy & security>Firewall & network settings. (I'm not a networking expert so can't really provide more specific details and a MacOS setup would be different anyway.) I also have dynamic IP addresses, but have not had any more issues (so far, for in-home use) since adjusting the firewall settings and giving Emby permission.

I found out how to fix my problem via the green "Connection Help" section shown in your previous screenshot. Perhaps checking your firewall settings is something to try, if you haven't already?

Update: Deleted my MacBook Pro. Clean Install. Installed emby  yet again. Shows on the laptop. But not on the TV nor my 4K Player. Again, it only shows up on my Firestick 4K, nothing else. Now I'm furious since I had a ton of stuff that while thankfully can download again, the hassle is gonna be tough.
