Emby Server Fails to See UNAS Pro Shares

Hey everyone,

I was extremely excited to move my files over to my new Ubiquiti UNAS Pro, but after setting up my shared drives and testing them on my Windows 11 unit, I was unable to connect through the Emby server.

I've checked a ton of forum posts about samba shares and file access but all attempts were to no avail. For reference I am running the EmbyServer / embytray setup as opposed to Emby as a Service.

My only thought would be that the samba share is accessed by the "Connect using different credentials option", where I then pass credentials stored in the NAS:

The Emby Log Provides the following message:

Quote

2025-02-06 20:02:49.960 Error Server: Error processing request
    *** Error Report ***

    Framework: .NET 6.0.33

    Processor count: 12
    Data path: C:\Program Files\programdata

    Source: Emby.Api

Obviously the main concern here is "Directory not found: \\14.27.0.253".

As you can see in the following screenshots, I am able to connect directly through Windows Explorer no problem:

Have you tried manually typing full path for particular library, i.e. \\14.27.0.253\Emby\Movies?

Edit: Disregard, checked your log.

Hi, that is the server. Try typing in the network share, e.g. \\ip\emby

Hey so I got frustrated and took a break from the setup - I restarted the NAS, Server, and EmbyServer numerous times with no luck.

I ended up testing Jellyfin (which is just a fork of Emby) with no intention of actually switching and noticed the connection worked immediately.

Afterwards I restarted Emby and thus - the connection began to work.

I believe the logs show I tried \\ip\Emby, as well as the directories like \\ip\Emby\Movies as well - although when it worked it was first try just typing in the UNC path as I had before.

Thanks for taking time to look at this and I hope no one else has trouble with their setups : )

NOTE: Now that everything is working... I'm LOVING this Ubiquiti UNAS Pro + Emby setup - would recommend to anyone who comes across this post in the future!
