LotharG 0 Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Hi Community, recentyl i´ve installed Emby Server on my Synology NAS. I set up the emby user to grant access to the share and started emby. After adding a new library i found only 55 photos at round about 3 sub-folders. Thousands of my photos are stored in different sub-solders, but Emby didn´t scaned they. Can anyone help? Regards
Luke 39008 Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Hi there, did you wait for the initial library scan to finish?
LotharG 0 Posted February 6 Author Posted February 6 Hi Luke, yes, the initial scan has been finished, but from my perspective to fast. I´ve checked the library today again, but Emby shows still only 55 photos. Emby shows only three sub-folders, but there are 8 sub-folders at the same level. Do you´ve any ideas? Regards
Carlo 4509 Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Upload you Emby server log file for us to take a look at.
Luke 39008 Posted February 12 Posted February 12 @LotharGyou can learn how to do that here: How to Report a Problem Thanks !
LotharG 0 Posted Friday at 02:00 PM Author Posted Friday at 02:00 PM Sorry, but i´m new to Emby and have low experience with troubleshooting. I´ve read the server log and there are a lot "permission denied" entries. But why? I´ve set the permissions exactly regarding this article: https://emby.media/support/articles/Synology-Set-Permissions.html Any ideas?
Carlo 4509 Posted Monday at 01:53 AM Posted Monday at 01:53 AM Hi @LotharG That article explains how to give Emby read/write access to the Synology Share. Files and folders stored within the share will also have specific permissions as well as owner and group permissions that have to allow Emby Server access. These permissions almost always need adjusting/correcting if you use Windows File Manager to copy/move content to the NAS. The files will likely be owned by your Windows username vs Emby for example. So, make sure to check the files and folders of content in the shared location. Carlo
