Cleaning up when moving files

Dear team

I have moved some files yesterday, from a main folder to a sub folder.
I have season one of billions. I had these 12 files in the main folder so
Folder Billions -> 12 files
I just got season 2 and did the following
Made 2 folders in the main folder Billions called Season 01 and Season 02
The 12 files i had in the main folder i put ofc in the Season 01.

So here is the question. When i now go into Kodi under the season 01 folder. I see my files are dual probably because i moved them. But how to get these cleaned up automatically? Is this a Kodi issue or emby?

Either way can you tell me how to get them cleaned up automatically. I know i can mark each of them deleting the ones that dont work one by one. Just wanted to avoid that :)

Did you try a library repair in the plugin config menu -> Sync -> Manage libraries?

Which plugin version do you use?

Nope i did not know i could do this. This worked like a charm.

I use Emby for Kodi Next Gen and its in version 11.1.15

But additional question, is it not possible to have the program clean it up automatically. I mean i can live with this clean up which is WAY faster than taking one file at the time. Just curious :)

It should not happen in the first place, sounds like a sync issue but not sure if I can design a test case for it.

Well it is happening for me every time i do same thing as in the initial question. If move the files around, if i put them in another folder. I have never fiddled with my settings in my Emby Server, they are as standard, and i do have license for it (in case its only something thats enabled in full version).

I just had the time today to ask the question.

Sounds easy for you, yes.

A few questions. How and when do you scan the libraries on Emby server and if not using realtime sync on Emby, what was the timing of the syncs?

Is the source folder assigned to the same Emby library or to multiple libraries. Same question for the destination folder.

Was Kodi offline at this point (was plugins realtime or startup sync active).

Was the moved content a multiversion and does it have specials included?

Do you use plugins addon or native mode.

If native, was the destination folder at the same drive as the source?

If yes, was the destination folder a subfolder of the sourcefolder.

btw, if you don't have Kodi companion installed on your Emby server that's probably the issue and has nothing to do with moving files.

It's about file deletion in general, but only affects Kodi's (plugins) startup sync. If the issue appears while Kodi is only, it's a different case.

Please let me know if this fixes the issue. I'll also perform some tests...

I have not touched it but it at standard every 12 hours. I can tell you that when i took that screenshot in the post i moved the files 2 days ago.

I dont understand this question 100%? Which source folder are we talking about? Billions or some other in general?

Yes i use Kodi on 4 devices at home, On my Pc (where screenshot is from) On 2x Shields and 1 Amazon Fire Tv cube.
Regarding the plugin, dont know which plugin you mean? Is there one that should be installed in the Kodi tool? If yes whats it called?

Normal Mkv files, i dont know what you mean about specials?

Do you use plugins addon or native mode.
Native i cant use the other on the shields.

If native, was the destination folder at the same drive as the source?
If i understand the question correctly then yes

If yes, was the destination folder a subfolder of the sourcefolder.

I just googled it and cant find what that is, i have just installed Emby server and nothing else. Only 2 things i did back in the day when i got it was to path the 2 main folders Movies and series and then put in the emby premiere code. I have never fiddled with anything else.

Kodi companion is an Emby server plugin. You need to install it to keep track of deleted content while Kodi is offline.

Moving files is for Emby servers a content delete action in one folder and add content in another folder. Emby doesn't know that you "moved" files.

When Kodi companion plugin is not installed, Emby server doesn't report the deleted content to Kodi, only the added ones and exactly leads to what you reported -> double content.

I'll add a notification in one of the next version, if the addon is not installed.
