karlic 4 Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 I have a number of downloaded podcasts that are no longer available online so can't (I assume) use the podcast plugin. I've searched the forum, but can't find a definitive way of naming them so they work in Emby. (Podcast Naming is conspicuous by its absence from here: https://emby.media/support/articles/Home.html) I've tried various combinations of TV Show, Mixed, and Audio book content types with different naming schemes. They are: a mix of mp3 and m4a in directories by title, then season, then episode no longer available online How should I name them and set up a library so that they: display by title, season, episode can be played by an Emby client (TV Show content type won't allow playing mp3, for example) can be paused/stopped and Emby re-plays from that point. Thank you.

rbjtech 4990 Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 (edited) I would setup a seperate Audio library, but turn off any metadata providers as no metadata will be available. Then seperate into folders based on the podcast name, then season/year etc and then invividual episode (in MP3) Before you invest a lot of time, I'd suggest a test library and mock up, just to check it works as you think it should. Album Artists = Podcast name Album = Year (or however else you wanted to split it) Songs = Podcast Episode eg ..\podcast_show_name\ ..\podcast_show_name\2024\ ..\podcast_show_name\2024\episode1.mp3 ..\podcast_show_name\2024\episode2.mp3 ..\podcast_show_name\2025\ Edited December 19, 2024 by rbjtech
