I am facing the same issue others have reported. Everytime i try to play music, my emby desktop app crashes. Its important to note, that it used to work properly. Its also important to note, i did not perform any updates to either the app or the emby server.

Setup:

- Emby is running 4.8.8.0 (i am waiting for the new vversion to be available on synology repository).
- not sure this is userful, but, on my synology i am using https port to redirect from the http (as i do not want to allow access through http). And yes, it is working. Other users have no issue connecting and using their apps (mostly smart tvs).

-  MacOSX 14.6.1

-  installed the emby app through the App Store.
-  tried uninstalling and Installing again, but the error persists
- noticed that Emby retains information after deletion and that when i install it will fetch my info ( login data in case i did not logout)
- I was wondering if there was a way to completely erase all emby data an perform a fresh install.
- I was only able to find residual files on "Library > Group Containers"... is there anywhere else i can go?

Alternatively,  i am using my browser access to play music. It works just fine, but i'd rather use the app.

My hunch is that a complete fresh install could probably sort this.

thanks for any tip.

Hi, what type of audio files are you trying to play?

Hello, my apologies for the delay.
I have all my library on mp3.

---
I just tried installing the app again and the issue remains. It did not ask for my credentials and logged in automatically. As soon as i played either music or video, it crashes.

I think this may be a slight bug, however, i would really want to know how to perform a clean fresh install of the Emby app.

my current suspicion, is that, when it was working there was a moment where i opened my vpn with the emby app still running. Not sure this could be an issue.

anyway, fresh install anyone?

thanks again

Hi, you should be able to just uninstall and then reinstall. That should be enough to clear saved app data.

Well, i am not sure it is happening with me.

I managed to reinstall, but it automatically displays the list of users, so i am guessing some settings are being stored somewhere. I have combed as much as i could, through the fily system with no luck (preferences, caches, etcc). At this point i cannot yet update to Sequoia, so i guess i''ll need to wait.

thanks for the support.

Hi, you mean on the login screen? this is not application data. This is coming from the Emby Server.
