bobrap 1 Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 Brand new to Emby, long time Kodi. Is there a way to sync the watch state from Kodi to Emby? I use nfo files which are updated in Kodi when a show episode/movie is watched. My Kodi library will show the correct watched state yet Emby shows all or some unwatched.` I don't want Emby to write to the nfo, Kodi writes only the watched state. I'm using native mode. Any help is appreciated and let me know if I need to give more info. Thanks.

OP would need to use some external sync service, like Trakt. Edited October 22, 2024 by GrimReaper
bobrap 1 Posted October 22, 2024 Author Posted October 22, 2024 Thanks, guys. Seems it makes no sense for me to use Emby with Kodi. Guess it'll be separate apps.
quickmic 1664 Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 (edited) Just to be clear, the next-get plugin up- and downsyncs the progress, but I assume you want an initial upsync from Kodi to Emby. This is not possible via next-gen plugins. What you have sounds like "native" Kodi content (even it's the same network share etc.). Kodi is not aware that this content is actually Emby content and so doesn't the plugins. Not sure what's you use case, but probably you should work with Emby and Kodi profiles. bobrap 1 Posted October 22, 2024 Author Posted October 22, 2024 Not really concerned with an initial sync. I can always manually sync the two. It's after that that I would ant things to auto sync. Not sure what you mean by Kodi and Emby profiles.

Well, progress sync is a standard function and yes will do. Quote Not sure what you mean by Kodi and Emby profiles. As I didn't know your use case, I though you might need different user profiles (on Emby server and on Kodi) to handle unique progress for individual (user) accounts.
bobrap 1 Posted October 22, 2024 Author Posted October 22, 2024 Let me play a little bit more and I'll be back. Thanks. 1
