App asks me to download a new version, but I already have a new versio

Hi,

I'm a bit confused. I have a Samsung TV and few weeks I installed the latest version for Tizen 1.8.8 via USB. However few days ago when I start EMBY in my TV it tells me that there's a new version to download. I checked blogs, here too and seems like 1.8.8 is the latest version, so I'm confused, why I'm getting this notification in my TV?

You're getting the message because 1.8.8 is a month old now and thus about to expire (I'm surprised it hasn't already).  Anyhow, check the GitHub link in the instructions.  New version is 1.8.9, but the release notes just haven't been updated yet.

1.8.9 does fix a cosmetic/navigation problem with some models, other than that, I'm not sure.

Oh, so there's a 1.8.9 version? Where can I get the link for it and for the future, where I can see latest versions?

In pinned post for the usb instructions just remove the filename from the link and it will show the latest build was from 4 days ago.

You can also click on the history button on the right side and it will give you the exact date for every build.

This website has worst user friendly interface. How do I download this file? Where's a download button? Designer of that website should be fired.

The direct link to the file is in the instructions, but on the page you're at if you click on the filename where your arrow is then on the next page you have to click on the downward arrow icon (ballon image will say "Download raw file").

Got it, downloaded finally. Thanks.

Now I'm facing another issue. It doesn't update automatically. I followed the instruction. Put that file in my flash drive, even extracted files too. Then plugged in TV, but nothing happens. It's still 1.8.8 version.

You have to remove the old version first.  Unfortunately, the usb versions won't upgrade.  Samsung only allows one usb app to be loaded at a time and when it sees you have one already it doesn't even try to install from your disk.

Make sure you delete the previous version from the app settings also.  Removing Emby on the Home just removes the shortcut, not the app.  Then plug in your usb.
