macOS Sequoia local network permission - No compatible streams message

After any reboot of macOS Sequoia (15.0) the Emby app will fail to play media from an emby server on the same LAN until the Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network > Emby setting is toggled off and on again (despite being set to on to start with). In other words, this Local Network access permission seems to be forgotten on each reboot (even though the macOS UI shows it as turned on) and toggling this off and on again reapplies the permission so the Emby app can work as usual.

Also, if Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network > Emby is turned off, the Emby app crashes (rather than prompting that Local Network access permission is required).

Hi, what exactly is crashing? The emby app on macOS? or Emby Server on macOS?

The Emby (client) app on macOS. I mistakenly posted under the server section so you’ll see I’ve since posted the issue under the client app section - apologies for that. Anyway - I’ve tested on several systems now and all have the issue consistently with all media.

Hi, are you still seeing this with macOS 15.0.1?

The macOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network > Emby setting is now remembered after reboots as of macOS 15.0.1 (so the main issue is resolved). If that setting happens to be off, the macOS emby client still gives the No compatible streams message (rather than prompting to enable local network access in macOS). Therefore, whilst the issue of having to continually set the permission after each reboot is resolved, the error message would ideally be replaced with a prompt to enable network access in macOS settings. Thanks.
