Proposing to show the backdrop corresponding to the Artist when playing a song from a Various Artists album.

Hi, so in other words use the artist backdrop rather than the album artist backdrop?

If there is more than one artist, I suppose you take the first one.  Or rotate through them some somehow.

The backdrop for a song from a Various Artists album in the "now playing" page is an image with several words (can't play right now to take a screenshot). The Album Artist for these albums is "Various Artists", that's why I guess is showing that image.

If the Album Artists is "Various Artists" and the Artists for the song currently playing is different, show the backdrop for that artist (if available).

I think we can just take the artist image rather than album artist image. I don't think it makes sense to check for a specific artist name.
