Photo App or creatable shortcut to Photos within the Emby app

Good Day,

Not sure if this has been asked before or not; I did a quick search and didn't find anything so I figured I'd ask.

Looking to see if there's a possibility to create a shortcut on my android's home screen that can go right into my Photo's folder within Emby. Just looking to save a step rather than fire up Emby, then search for photos etc. It would be nice to have an app or shortcut that opens up my photos directly that are backed up on my Emby server. Almost like Google photos....just a simply open and there are all my photos. Is this a possibility?

I'd rather not have to use Google photos at all....and I don't backup my photos to their cloud. But it would be nice if there were some sort of Emby Photos app that strictly deals with your backed up photos.

Thanks

Hi, what home screen sections do you have enabled? You can get to your photos library from there, right?

Additionally, the app does support android shortcuts, although they are not configure yet. But you can try tapping and holding on the app icon and you'll see some shortcuts there.

Awesome, thank-you for that. The tapping and holding definitely allowed for a shortcut to be created; however my photo library wasn't one of the 4 options. It looks like it will create a shortcut of whatever you have in the bottom when you open up the Emby app ie. Downloads, Audiobook etc.

I simply went into my Library Order and made my photos the first option. Now the app has it on the bottom and I could make a shortcut from that. Dandy!!

**One more feature/question I wouldn't mind asking about....Not sure if you want another thread started for it or not, but I figure I'll ask here.

I recently put a lot of my photos/videos into a folder. Luckily enough I can sort by Year within Photos and everything appears to be in the correct order (Newest to Oldest). However that doesn't seem to apply to Videos. Regardless if I try to sort by Year or Date Added, my videos are in Random order. I believe because Windows sees all of these videos as Created on the same date now. Created and Accessed all seem to share the same date because that's when I moved the files. However, Modified is the true date of when the videos were actually created and would be the correct way of how to sort them. Do you know of any means to sort by this?

Thanks

@NilocRetep

Hi, in Emby, no because it uses the date created timestamp. Is there anyway you can get the files updated with the correct values?
