This Emby Server needs to be updated.

Hello,

This is the message I received today. So I went to your site and updated my Emby server to version 4.8.8.0 for my WD PR2100. Sadly, I continue to get this message even though I am currently running the most up to date stable version you are offering.

I am running Windows 11 and it does not matter if I try the app or the wep interface I get the error message on both.

Nevermind.

The Emby Theater app from the Windows Store seems to run fine. The Windows Desktop version still has the problem.

Are you by chance running Jellyfin also?  As other topics have shown this happen when both server are running on same default ports.

Nope. I only had emby installed and changed nothing.

I remember now why I did not use the Microsoft Store version of the emby app. I does not play certain files back.

Might have to go back to Plex, which I really do not want to.

Okay,

 

I manage to resolve the issue while trying to fix the Store app. It turns out that while I had the latest server version installed, it did not registered in the apps. I used the store app to restart the sever and the server version was updated to the one I was using in the apps. Now the Desktop version works again.

Ah yes the tricky restart Host as this has come up before for these platforms.
