ArchivoEnsalle 1 Posted July 22 Posted July 22 Hello, we are setting up a repository for a theater room, and I need to make changes to the details in the section where People are added, you can choose Actor, Director, Writer, etc. Well, in Spanish words have gender, so I need to change the section Actor for Performer, Director for Director, Writer for Writer, Composer for Sound Space. The Studies by Company section. Thanks.
GrimReaper 3746 Posted July 23 Posted July 23 @ArchivoEnsalleKindly do not use "Report Malicious" for troubleshooting purposes, you'll get the assistance in relevant topic when Devs get around to it. Thanks. 1
ArchivoEnsalle 1 Posted July 24 Author Posted July 24 It won't let me respond, so I had to mark it somehow. Thanks.
ArchivoEnsalle 1 Posted July 29 Author Posted July 29 15 hours ago, Luke said: Hi, what exactly do you mean by "Writer for Writer" ? Okay, as I say, these changes are intended for Spanish, where words have gender, I mean "escritor" and "escritora". Leaving aside this small detail that I don't understand the reason for the question, given that there are already plenty of examples to understand the problem. Does this "problem" have a solution? Can I change the details in the section where People? Thank you very much for your attention.
Happy2Play 9060 Posted July 29 Posted July 29 At the same time how is Emby supposed to know male or female? Unless you plan on manually applying this to every person imported into Emby? Also still have no idea what this is supposed to mean? Director for Director, Writer for Writer they are the same But I guess lot of things will have translation issues when it is not gender specific at all.
ebr 15352 Posted July 29 Posted July 29 Hollywood has eliminated gender. There are no longer any Actresses so I'm not sure how we would do this.

Let's see if we can get this platform working. I have a problem. I'll explain in great detail what the problem is. Emby translates the pages into different languages, in my case it is Spanish, and the general public that our server will have, which is dedicated exclusively to material made in a theater in a very small location. In the Spanish language, words have gender, so being of little liking in the linguistic generalization of this, it is decided to change these words for others of neutral gender, so we decided to find out if the sections mentioned in the title can be changed. If that text where it says "Actor" can be exchanged for the word "Interpreter". Simply if that text can be changed and how it can be changed. Thank you.
Happy2Play 9060 Posted August 3 Posted August 3 @Luke@ebris this is this something that should be changed in translation files? From the web client it is easy to just edit the es.json file.

Solution Happy2Play 9060 Posted August 4 Solution Posted August 4 2 hours ago, ArchivoEnsalle said: Ok, let's try again... Can I change those sections using code or whatever it's called? What would that code be? For the web client yes other clients not that I know of. But is limited to singular translations as gender is not possible. "Actor": "Actor", "Composers": "Compositores", "Composer": "Compositor", "Director": "Director", Path will be platform prevalent. \Emby-Server\system\dashboard-ui\modules\common\strings\es.json Not say change will have to be applied with every server update as this entire folder gets replaced with every update.

I've made the relevant changes. Now I need to restart the server or this will be applied instantly, because it hasn't been applied. The audiovisual material we use is available on a server with Ubuntu installed. Thank's.

Believe you have to clear browser cache. At the same time this is limited to the web client as that is all the dashboard-ui code applies to.
