Solution Thomamueller 2 Posted July 11, 2024 Solution Posted July 11, 2024 Theses steps were performed 7/10/2024 around 18:00. I am new to Emby. I am in the process of moving from NextPVR. I completed the set up process using a M3U4U playlist that is reduced to manageable level. I use the providers EPG. When done I have the Guide information and all appears well. The guide contains 24 hours of info. Provider says that is all they will provide. I then update metadata to place my top 10 shows at the top of the guide list. I change the channel numbers to 10, 20, 30, etc. Then this morning (07/11/2024 @ 8:00) after updating the guide via Live TV refresh EPG the guide still ends at 8:00 tonight. I believe if start over all will be corrected. Please advise! PS: To create the logs, I restarted the server (07/11/2024), went to Live TV and clicked refresh EPG and created this entry. embyserver (2).txt.zip ffmpeg-directstream-a579871f-549b-4419-af56-f49914eb2689_1.txt
Thomamueller 2 Posted July 11, 2024 Author Posted July 11, 2024 I am running 4.8.8.0 on a Mac Mini 2014. Monterey 12.7.5
Thomamueller 2 Posted July 11, 2024 Author Posted July 11, 2024 And then it works. Clicked on Scheduled Task (10:45) to update EPG and it worked. Attached are logs for comparison. embyserver (3).txt.zip ffmpeg-directstream-8c9685a1-401b-4ea9-9cf8-6923fd6f943f_1.txt ffmpeg-directstream-00be5963-86db-4b25-b724-66002304f5bd_1.txt
Luke 40017 Posted July 11, 2024 Posted July 11, 2024 Hi, what triggers are configured on the scheduled task?
Thomamueller 2 Posted July 11, 2024 Author Posted July 11, 2024 (edited) Are you asking for what other triggers? Standard triggers except for Back Up, Stats and Scheduled Guide Update (once a day and @ 2:00pm) Edited July 11, 2024 by Thomamueller
Luke 40017 Posted July 11, 2024 Posted July 11, 2024 Quote Scheduled Guide Update (once a day and @ 2:00pm) Hi, so this task has one trigger, or two?
Luke 40017 Posted July 11, 2024 Posted July 11, 2024 What exactly does it say for "once a day"? (we don't use that text).
Thomamueller 2 Posted July 11, 2024 Author Posted July 11, 2024 (edited) Thats what it says before i deleted it. The log shows it kicking off at 00:00:15. I figured too many scheduled tasks at 00:00:00 so i deleted it and added a EPG refresh at 1:30am. Lets see what happens at 2:00pm. Next scheduled refresh task. Now that it updated this morning manually by clicking refresh from scheduled tasks, i think the provider is playing role in this. I appears when refresh does run it ends at 8:00pm. Thus i expect no change/update at 2:00pm. However at 1:30am tonight i expect another 24 hours added to me out til Saturday at 8:00pm. This morning update took me to Friday 8:00pm Tonights 1:30am Should take me to Saturday 8:00pm. Edited July 11, 2024 by Thomamueller additional info.
Luke 40017 Posted July 11, 2024 Posted July 11, 2024 OK rule of thumb - trust the defaults If the trigger is set for 2pm daily, then your emby server needs to be up and running at that time. If you forget and start the server at 2:05pm, it won't run the task and you may run out of guide data. That's why the default interval triggers make the most sense for most people.
Thomamueller 2 Posted July 11, 2024 Author Posted July 11, 2024 Server runs 23.9/7. Except for daily Mac mini restarts at 5:00am. Emby starts automatically after restart. As expected, 2:00pm refresh had no change. Expect 1:30am to add a day.
Luke 40017 Posted July 11, 2024 Posted July 11, 2024 Just now, Thomamueller said: As expected, 2:00pm refresh had no change. So maybe your guide source still had the same data. You may need to update your schedule based on when your guide source gets new data.
Thomamueller 2 Posted July 12, 2024 Author Posted July 12, 2024 Okay, scheduled refresh task ran at 1:30. I ran a manual triggered refresh at 3:15 am. Lookin at the log it appears to have gotten guide info but no update. Currently I am stuck on 8:00 pm. It appears to be a provider thing. Will schedule a bunch of refreshes to see which one actually updates. embyserver (4).txt.zip
Thomamueller 2 Posted July 12, 2024 Author Posted July 12, 2024 (edited) You can close this. Just chatted with xtreme hd and they have a problem on their end. I am glad there is someone live on the other end. Why i am moving from nextpvr to you. Edited July 12, 2024 by Thomamueller 1
