I use:

https://packagecloud.io/gyazo/gyazo-for-linux/ubuntu

https://deb.opera.com/opera-stable

and some from ppa.launchpad.net, for example http://ppa.launchpad.net/noobslab/themes/ubuntu

So I tried with the 16.10 repo and get the same issue:

Interesting. Well I would suggest you try a vpn and see if the results are the same.

I am pretty much frustrated but at least I got emby-server now installed...

So I installed VPN One Click and tried again... and it just worked while the vpn was active.

I really wouldnt have thought that they mess so bad with our data here to make real standard stuff like downloading from a signed repo fails :(

Thanks for your help and I got it now!

I have emby server just installed in Ubuntu 16.04, and have it started, but I cannot add a media folder in the setup. Emby sees  a network in or under Folder, but that is all, nothing else. I then tried this :

\\freenas\WinShare\Media\music, but emby couldn't either see or find it.

I've also tried by IP address, but still no luck

I can see the media folder from files in Ubuntu when I connect to the smb server, and have tried: smb://freenas/winShare/Media/music, but that doesn't work either.

What have I missed.

@@avalon65, the mono runtime does not support unc shares, so you need to first mount the network path as a local path in Ubuntu, then use that local path in Emby.

Any advice on installing emby server on pi 3 I have nothing but problems and I'm getting fed up now first I tried debian no luck constantly failing on dependencies. So I installed ubuntu 16.04 instead now I'm a step closer and it seems to just be sqlite3 which is causing me the most trouble to get hold of. I've tried a few different approaches. I don't know Wether this is due to newer updates but I am having no luck and am about ready to give up with this project now.

Give this a shot for your SQLite problems. Not sure how it will go but it fixed a previous error I had with something else somewhere else.

sudo apt-get install sqlite3 libsqlite3-dev

Sent from my phone!

Yeah I did a combination of this and a tutorial I found online nearly all set up just struggling to transfer my emby premier account it doesn't seem to register after I save my key. Is there a way to get the key reset or is it an issue with the new firmware.

Can you please provide the Emby server log? You can learn how to do that here:

Thanks !

I have emby server just installed in Ubuntu 16.04, and have it started, but I cannot add a media folder in the setup.  Emby will list the parent folder with the media I want to share, but clicking on it does nothing, i.e. it doesn't show subfolders and blanks out the path.

I tried manually inputting the location: /share/tv, but receive the error message; "There was an error adding the media path. Please ensure the path is valid and the Emby Server process has access to that location."

Doing some research I see that Emby has its own user/group.  I changed the permissions for "/share/tv" to chown -R emby:emby and chmod 775 giving emby:emby read/write/execute.  I go back through the setup and emby still won't let me navigate to the subfolder /tv under /share.  Manually inputting the path yields the same result as before.

I should note that this location is pooled via mergerFS, does Emby support pooled storage?

My next attempt is to change the user and group of Emby to my current user/group for those locations and see if that works.

@@freezy what regression for poster updates? Both tvdb and Omdb have been having sporadic outages, but that is not an Emby regression and won't change with the Emby version.

freezy

@@Luke no, it's not an outage. For some movies, when selecting a new poster, Emby just hangs with the progress bar. Refreshing will result in the new poster, but restarting Emby reverts back to the old one. I've also tried manually uploading a new poster with the same result.

I'll open a GitHub issue about it with the log and steps how to reproduce. However while I see 3.2.7.5 at the Opensuse repo, apt update doesn't seem to fetch the update.

I've posted 3.2.8 stable. It is strictly a version increment to correct the tagging mistake. We are currently working on a new build system. Apologies for the disruption. Thanks.

I cannot get my emby server to update. My dashboard currently states I am on Version 3.2.12.0 beta and there is an update available for 3.2.12.1. I've tried sudo apt-get update  and sudo apt-get install commands but terminal says I'm on the latest release even though the dashboard states differently.  I also want my server to stay on and get updates only for stable releases. Any suggestions?

Hi,

I've just set up an Ubuntu 17.04 VM using Hyper-V in Windows 10. I would like to know if there is a way to install Emby Server to the /srv path, rather than the default, as it is a separate partition.

Does it still not update after running the following?:

apt-get update

apt-get dist-upgrade

It didn't before, but it's been fixed now.
