Another odd thing.. not sure if this is related...

I installed the Vera home Automation plugin and each time I restart the server it asks to restart for the pending plugin Vera.

I may just pull it all off and start from scratch.

You would happen to have the old instructions for mediabrower for linux on hand just in-case I'm stuck here

P.S I tried removing my folders and tried to rescan without success.

The new instructions will work, just do apt-get remove --purge, and make sure that /var/lib/emby gets removed. Reinstall with new instructions. Also ensure /etc/default/emby get's removed as well. I'm surprise your library didn't get repopulated when you did another library scan.

No trouble, I'm surprise that it didn't workout as smoothly as I had hoped, the symlink should have worked.

I know the issue, in the db the physicallocationlist don't get update on the restart of the service. I will see about getting this on Luke's radar.

@, We have had some users report that Emby doesn't follow symlinks for some reason so that might be what is causing the problem.

Thanks for the heads up!

Ok I purge and re-installed and all was fine. Scanning library right now.

Perhaps you should put a note on the Ubutnu install page not to upgrade from mediabrowser for the time being.

I should have thought about the db and the paths myself.  :)

I've run into that with kodi and mysql.

Thanks again !!

I can confirm that if you apt-get purge emby, del the /var/lib/emby & ../mediabrowser folders manually, then reinstall it works.

Annoying.  But as it's a test for me, recreating log-ins isn't a big deal.

Well that sucks and thanks for the heads up.

ok another issue I've found after updating to this version.

I cannot add a username and password to tvheadend any longer

I get the following error:

Guid should contain 32 digits with 4 dashes (xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx).

That's an actual emby issue, you might want try making another post, in a thread more general.

I have another question: Why does scanning the media library slam my processor?

I can understand why it would at first install - generating all the indexes for roku, and chapter files, etc.  But after that, it should only have to do a very little as not much will change (max of 15 new files a day I'd guess, usually half that).

You might have chapter extraction enabled.

I probably do - it sounded neat.  I'll kill it and watch what happens.

EDIT: I tried to uncheck it, but every time I do, it crashes emby. :/  Won't save the change.

Hi everybody, I'm brand new to emby, and I love it so far. But there seems to be a quirk that I can't figure out.

Whenever I go to change my profile picture, I'll get various error popups. These can range from

  • The requested value "Images" was not found
  • There was an error processing the request. Please try again later

Server is running on Ubuntu 14.04.1, I'm not sure what's going on or where to check for errors. Could somebody point me in the right direction?

EDIT: I managed to pull the following from the logs if this helps

Chrome, Firefox and IE all have the issue. Tried from 2 different PC's (local subnet and WAN) as well....

May be worth noting that I am a newer user as well
