Ohhh wow mine is really under 3gb ram, here is a grafana snip of my ram usage over 30 days.

Running unRaid in docker.

Actually our support articles say 2Gb ram min when transcoding and not 1Gb or 512 Mb

  • If transcoding for multiple devices, a faster CPU may be required

It seems the problem was a simple lack of RAM. I added a swap file to my machine so that the total memory including swap is 2GB, and Emby seems to stay up, now. The only reason I didn't do this simple thing before was that I misremembered already having tried, but I guess not. 

So, now we could focus on the actual, functional problem I'm having with Emby
