Bad AV1 experience (Direct Play) on Emby android and MacOS application

Watching AV1 videos on Emby applications (Android and MacOS) without server encoding (Direct Play) is really bad. Playing AV1 videos works really smooth in browsers on the same devices (Samsung Galaxy S20 and MacBook Pro with i7-8850H).

Video is playing smooth on MacOS thru Chrome browser.

 

The same video on MacOS thru Emby application is really laggy. 

 

Same result on Samsung Galaxy S20. Watching on this phone on Brave browser is really smooth, while with Emby application it is too laggy / unwatchable.

Now I have Samsung Galaxy S24 that support hardware AV1 decoding. AV1 videos on it using Emby mobile applications works amazing. But some of AV1 encoded content on Emby mobile application doesn't show ASS subtitles.

 

You can see on laptop on Emby website that English ASS subtitles works normally:

 

The same English ASS subtitles on Samsung Galaxy S24 Emby mobile application doesn't work:

 When I force transcoding on Samsung Galaxy S24 Emby mobile application with the same ASS English subtitles they start to work:

 

Edited: When I want to watch some AV1 encoded videos with ASS subtitles on my phone S24 using Emby mobile application, I need to force transcoding in order for subtitles to work / gets shown.
