Questions about Roku and media browser

Hey Guys,

I currently have a dedicated HTPC with my movies and shows ripped and stored. This computer is running a media browser plug in within media center.

I ditched directtv a few months ago, and have my home hard wired with network cable going to each of my four rooms with an Xbox 360 running media center extender on each. All going back to a gigabit switch.

Between my HTPC, antenna, Hulu, and Netflix - I have my all of my programming covered and don't miss directtv a bit.

But....I think my set-up is old tech and I am having issues playing mkv files through my 360 extenders. They play fine just browsing to my shared folder and running the show that way and they play fine directly off the HTPC. But I LOVE the way media browser organized my everything with the graphical interface. Easier for the wife to use too.

I'm thinking of ditching my Xbox 360's and going with roku boxes instead. I was going to install the media browser server on my HTPC and run it through the Roku box instead.

Just curious if there are any limitations on the file playback when accessing media browser through the roku box streaming shows off my HTPC? Will they still look crisp and clear or will they look pixelated like when I am running media center extender through my xbox 360's?

Thanks for the help and I love this program, you guys are doing great work

I have my Roku set to 1080p and my bitrate at 10.7 MB/s and I have absolutely no complaints about the picture quality (depending on the source, obviously).

Thanks for the reply

I actually went ahead and picked up a roku 3 yesterday and got media browser server running. I have to say I'm impressed. Don't know why I didn't ditch the Xbox's and do this sooner
