Lordsnooty 5 Posted September 25, 2024 Posted September 25, 2024 (edited) Hi there, First of all, I want to say that I downloaded EMBY about 4 months ago for my Synology Nas and I have been enjoying it so much that I paid for a premium membership. Besides this I have run into a wee bit of a problem and that is my version of EMBY is Version 4.8.8.0 but I believe Emby Server 4.8.9.0 is Available for for NAS which is Synology® DiskStation DS416play So I tried to download it from your link provided ( https://emby.media/synology-server.html ) but for the life of me when I try to manually install it I get notice that it is NOT compatible. I probably am downloading the wrong one but is possible for somebody on here to direct me to the correct version for my DS416Play so that I can manually install it? PS Some of my friends and family are experiencing buffering and connection problems and I think it is because I am not using the most up-to-date EMBY Server which is 4.8.9.0 I tried both of the two ARMv7 Servers (that are underlined) but both appear to be not compatible with NAS Edited September 25, 2024 by Lordsnooty needed to update

Sorry, but I never said it was 4.8.8.9.....I said it was Emby Server 4.8.9.0 but I don't know what link to download to update my Synology NAS DS416Play with. Could someone help which link I should download so that I can manually update my Nas?

You can see the package info at the top of a server log. 1
Happy2Play 9280 Posted September 25, 2024 Posted September 25, 2024 (edited) @Lukeis there a way to display the installed version/package in View Server Info? Edited September 25, 2024 by Happy2Play
Lordsnooty 5 Posted September 25, 2024 Posted September 25, 2024 (edited) Thanks, Happy2Play.....I was downloading the wrong server. I was downloading the Armv7 but as you pointed out I should have been downloading the X64 but when I did that and manually installed it it worked but when I look at EMBY Dashboard I get this:- and it is that I have installed 4.8.8.0 but it says that there is a 4.8.9. 0 available. Where can you get the 4.8.9.0 version or am I doing (again) something wrong?.....Thanks again for your help NB DSMEDIA is the name of my Nas Server Edited September 25, 2024 by Lordsnooty Name of my server was not shown

Release 4.8.9.0 · MediaBrowser/Emby.Releases (github.com) But don't know your DSM version so you will have to get the correction one from the list per your DSM version.

Lordsnooty 5 Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 Hi guys, sorry I was wrong the update is here https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.Releases/releases I just didn't see the expand button to see all 96 servers. So I have picked the correct server for my Synology and installed it and Emby is working beautifully. So thanks again for these updates...much appreciated 1
Luke 39294 Posted October 2, 2024 Posted October 2, 2024 Hi, why not just use the download page on our website?
heffeque 50 Posted October 2, 2024 Posted October 2, 2024 In my case, my reason for getting it on Github is because it has the changelog, so you can check what's changed and also download the latest one (be it Stable or Beta) in one go
Carlo 4529 Posted October 2, 2024 Posted October 2, 2024 Nothing wrong with that. Just keep in mind the download page in case you ever need it. Carlo
