Thanks a lot for testing! For the WMC UI, responsibility is all on me, though. In 2.217.0, the focus was on getting Remote Control interaction working (by working around the core app behavior). Next, I'll look into RC behavior in the WMC UI flavor. 1
Peter Nent 64 Posted February 14 Author Posted February 14 Many thanks Softwokz for responding!, Tonight, I found one new Remote Control issue: when browsing through the EPG (up or down), a new issue appears: it most of the times keeps browsing, even if I don't press the down or up button anymore.... I even re-tested it tonight on the first v2.xx of Emby WMC UI of last week, and found it (afterwards) also to be there.... This anoying issue seems to be introduced in v2 of Emby WMC UI....as it is NOT in the Emby Windows v2.213....thus it seems to be an issue in the Emby WMC UI v2.2xxx. It feels like a bouncing key issue, but running the other versions or via the browser (on the same system and RC), there is NO issue. Advise: test it on your own Emby WMC UI v2.2xx system with a standard Microsoft RC in order to simulate... If you have any question, please don't hesitate to ask! Grtz. Peter
softworkz 4495 Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Hi Peter, thanks again for your feedback. Please try 2.218.0 (should be there in 1-2h)! On 11/9/2023 at 10:01 PM, Peter Nent said: TV : goes to an empty screen, if no channel is choosen before, otherwise it returns to the active TV-channel...: why not start live-TV if not started ? There was a reason for not doing this, but I don't remember it. Fast-backward : simular This should be all fixed now and working properly, plrease try. Also, all the buttons are working again in the guide (channel+/-, rewind, ffwd, previous/next) for faster scrolling. Please try. On 11/9/2023 at 10:01 PM, Peter Nent said: Channel-+ : doesn't work Channel-- : doesn't work Is working now for live tv but the presentation is not final yet. Displaying a channel list might be nice, but that only makes sense when there's a delay like currently. With TVnext, the channel switching should happen instantly, which contradicts to a list display. I'm still thinking about this. On 11/9/2023 at 10:01 PM, Peter Nent said: 0 until 9 : doesn't work....which is anoying, as this is basically the main function of a remote control..... That's the same context. Here it should definitely show a list with the channels that are matching the partially entered number. (so it's not done yet) On 11/9/2023 at 10:01 PM, Peter Nent said: colors : red, green, orange and blue: doesn't work They are meant for Teletext navigation and we don't have that yet. What else do you think they should do? On 11/9/2023 at 10:01 PM, Peter Nent said: General: if you are in the EPG and chose an active program (which can play immediately), activate live-TV immediately (and thus not the screen: play channel, record or series record): this is (as far I know) simular as in the original MCE....if a user likes to record Live-TV, just use the record-red button....this makes using a remote control even easier...one click less to live-TV...If the program is 'in the future' when choosen fromout the EPG, the existing screen (with the choice of record, etc.) should be shown: as is. I think this is creating a too much unexpected behavior. What if you just want to read the synopsis of a running program? Or you want to enable series recording without watching? But now you can view a running program by pressing the Play button in the guide - just like in original WMC

Peter Nent 64 Posted February 16 Author Posted February 16 Many thanks @softworkz , @Lukeand many others! Now @softworkzhas adopted the newly built Emby WMC UI v2.2x, we are testing it again and alreadty found some issues, which Softworkz mostly solved already: GREAT ! But for solving one longterm request, it seems that the Emby core should be worked on: the Remote Controle (RC) Chn.-+/-, the channelnummers when looking live-TV and as I understood from Softworkz, to support this, it should be implemented first in the kernel of Emby, probably by you @Luke or somebody else ? Please also see this ticket for more details, or contact @softworkzin order to get more details. It would be highly appreciated if this 'last' RC-issue can be solved by you ! As reference, please use the good-old Microsoft-RC and Microsoft-MCE.... If you have any question, please don't hesitate to ask! Grtz. Peter 1

I tested them again by using two different Microsoft RC's, one mayor bug remained: when using the Big EPG (Guide, thus not the 2 row small EPG), it still somtimes happen that after releasing the up of down button, it still continues scrolling up of down....Please solve this issue, as it was never there....it seems to be a 'new' Emby WMC UI v2.2.xx issue (it also isn't in the Emby Windows v2.213.2....) Many thanks & best regards, Peter

Peter After testing-and-testing again (with three different Remote Controls, as I initially thought it to be a certain key-bouncing issue), I was finally able to duplicate this issue: Start Live-TV by choosing a channel via the guide Wait a few seconds until you have live TV picture (in my test channal-15 for example) Press the 'Back' button; the EPG should come back on top of the live TV picture in the background and on the same channel-15 Press the UP or DOWN button once: this (mostly) ends that the channel browsing up or down doesn't stop, but keeps going on....sometimes it 'only' skips one channl (thats OK), but mostly it keeps on browsing until you press the back button....mostly uncontrolled....unwanted behavior ! NOTE: this only seems to happen when looking live-TV, going back by pressing the 'back' button to the EPG (as this is the only way to return in the EPG on the same channel....if pressing the EPG button, it returns you ALWAYS to channel-1)..... Hope that this information enables you to find the source of this nasty issue and solve it ! Thanks & best regards, Peter
Peter Nent 64 Posted March 26 Author Posted March 26 After installing the latest version of Emby WMC gui v2.222.2.0 today (26-03-2025), it sems that the Remote Control (RC) issue is still not solved: when watching live-TV, pressing the keys 0-9 or up of down don't work as it should do as on a normal TV ....any idea how/when this will be addressed to be solved ? Thanks & best regards, Peter

softworkz 4495 Posted April 2 Posted April 2 HI Peter, I'm afraid, I haven't had time for looking into it. I'll write back once I did. Thanks
