A HTPC is much cheaper. Everything is inferior to a PC.

Just download libmpv from here https://sourceforge.net/projects/mpv-player-windows/files/ I tried doing that and it didn’t work, Theater refused to load. Luke mentioned Emby build a custom version specific to Theater, is this not the case? Have you tried this and it works? Edited August 28 by Mahinepua Added notes

The new high end Android players have pretty good reviews with respect to picture quality. I’m sure they will only get better. Much more expensive though and not as snappy as a PC. But yes agree pretty hard to beat a PC.

You have to make sure to rename it exactly the same as the file you replace.
Mahinepua 24 Posted August 29 Author Posted August 29 Are you able to post the latest build you did to replace embys? Im sure there will be lots of interest.

Just grab it from here, and be sure to get the correct file (32bit or 64bit), rename it mpv-1.dll, and replace the file. I don't build my own anymore. I just did this to make sure it worked...and it did
Mahinepua 24 Posted August 30 Author Posted August 30 (edited) I replaced embys mpv-1.dll with libmpv-2.dll and renamed, is that all there is to it? Theater works fine. Edited August 30 by Mahinepua

I haven't really looked at all of the changes lately. I'm mostly driving through deserts and over mountains these days

Mahinepua 24 Posted August 30 Author Posted August 30 not sure, its on Softworx radar to fix in the new theater build anyway.

I don't think the ffmpeg devs have approved it yet. That would be a question for @softworkz as he's one of the ffmpeg devs.
Mahinepua 24 Posted August 30 Author Posted August 30 hmm can the ffmpeg.dll in embys system/electron directory also be overwritten?
generiq 185 Posted August 30 Posted August 30 Just now, Mahinepua said: hmm can the ffmpeg.dll in embys system/electron directory also be overwritten? No, that's entirely different. Don't mess with that. mpv is built on ffmpeg (mostly). All of the audio stuff is ffmpeg, but libplacebo (gpu-next) is replacing the video. Everyone should be using gpu-next now. Eventually, the gpu option in mpv will be removed. That's why it's called gpu-next. I kinda wish they'd write their own audio engine too.
