Yes, it had to be like that. This wasn't a virus which acts autonomously. It was a backdoor to turn Emby Servers into BotNet nodes. In case of a BotNet, there are people sitting at the other end, having lists of their active nodes in front of them and the ability to quickly execute arbitrary scripts or binaries which can be transmitted and this needs to be setup just once and then it can be assigned to an arbitrary number of nodes for execution.
