Hi,

Total new user here. Need some help understanding how to setup a Clearstream TV tuner. Works fine in Plex. I like Emby better so far. Have Emby premiere, Win 11. have tried multiple Live TV servers and tried M3U files. Sometimes takes a long time but never works. Have setup a few Plugin Servers and none can see the Clearstream tuner. This tuner is  Wifi, no USB or direct ethernet connection. Anyone got one of these to work for Live TV? Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Mark

Hi,

Here's a brief description:

ClearStream TV review | TechHive

My tv is a ways away from my router so I don't have to run an ethernet cable, this tuner doesn't have an ethernet port, wifi only

Emby can't discover it. I've tried the usual plug in servers, DVBlink, Media Portal Nextpvr and they cant see it either.

I've tried setting up an m3u link. Example

#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:0, 2.1,Fox 2.1
http://192.168.149.xxx/live?channel=2.1&client=2.1

Tries but won't connect.

I can see the tuner on my network,

I can probably help you with NextPVR but I don't see the m3u links documented for ClearstreamTV Can you post a link to where you found one?  That looks like a NextPVR m3u listing.

Yes that's where I got it from. NextPVR however doesn't find the tuner.

I wonder how Plex auto finds the tuner?

Thanks,

Mark

Using NextPVR styled links to another device won't work 99.9% of the time.  I think your device support UPnPs maybe that is how it works in Plex.   Not sure if Emby or TVnext in the future support that for live tv input.  There might be a way to stream via rtsp too but you'd need to do some research

Some more info. When I go to the IP address and port 58888 it shows this info;

<MediaContainer>

<MediaGrabber identifier="com.geniatech.www" protocols="livetv" thumb="/www/image/eyetv_netstream_logo_normal.png" title="geniatech Grabber"/>

<MediaContainer>

I have no idea what this is but could use some help.

Thanks all,

Mark

Here's the m3u example added to the TV source;

#EXTM3U

#EXTINF:0,2.1-Fox

http://192.168.149.230/live?channel=2.1&client=2.1

#EXTINF:0, 2.2 - WJBK Movies

http://192.168.149.230/live?channel=2.2&client=2.2

Added the Guide data source Emby guide data OTA stations in my zip code (very accurate by the way) and mapped to the Channels setup.

Rebooted the server and the channels show up in On Now emby home and get the message;

Playback Error

No compatible streams are currently available. Please try again later or contact your system administrator for details.

Also tried with port numbers:554 (RTSP), 58888 (Media Grabber). No joy.

So I know the NextPVR links are not a good way to do it. Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!

Luke, you clearly aren't understanding the problem.  He doesn't know how (or if) his device supports http streaming.  He read about NextPVR urls and is using that with is Clearstream  h/w device IP.  Logs won't help, he needs to do more research on the capabilities of the device.
