JCmval 1
From ROKU - Roku TVs and Roku Ultra can decode AC3 and E-AC3. All other Roku devices will do passthrough to the receiving device. My ROKU is a stick - so only passthrough of audio - which my TV can't accept. So is the EMBY server capable of transcoding the AC3 audio to PCM before it is sent to the ROKU app? If the answer is yes I will send debug files, if no I will cancel. Thanks

Yes, it should already do this automatically for any format not supported by the device.
JCmval 1
Thanks for your response. Just to document what finally resolved the no-sound problem. On the Roku stick – changed all audio settings to Auto – Except output – which is now set to Stereo out. That then gave sound on the TV – but no video – just a green screen with closed caption. Then changed Emby server to NO hardware acceleration. Changed User account to No-subtitle. Issue resolved.
