PeteGul 28 Posted December 27, 2022 Posted December 27, 2022 (edited) HI Some questions about the UI for Android TV (ATV) app, and the lack of options that are there in the Android app. 1: Why isn't it possible to add movies to Collections on ATV, this is there in Android? 2: When viewing Collections, why can’t it show “all items” as standard, or have this as choice to be the standard viewing? Collections should not act as Playlists…. 3: SUB sync should be there. +/- in milliseconds would be nice. 4: Sound sync should also be there, as in SUB sync, milliseconds. I really like the Emby app for ATV, but there should be some more choices for the UI. I like to push buttons, but less is more. That’s why I recommend point “2”. And I think that most of the choices we have in the Android app could also work on ATV app? I run Verson 2.0.84g Registered and Server version (4.7.11.0) on Windows 10. Luke 39644 Posted December 28, 2022 Posted December 28, 2022 Hi. Can you try sideloading our standard android app on the same device and see how that compares? https://emby.media/emby-for-android.html Thanks.
PeteGul 28 Posted December 28, 2022 Author Posted December 28, 2022 (edited) Didn't think of trying that. Add to Collections now work, and remove from Collection work. So that is good It also has a better way of viewing Collections when you open it. More practical "wall" viewing IMO. There are no sub/sound sync futures here either, but that I think You know. I know that this normally isn't necessary, but sometimes it would really be nice to have this future. But a future that is missing from the ATV app, is that it sends WoL packet automatic. Here I have to wait before I get the question to send. And yes, the Beta version of the ATV app do that The small things that do not work really well with the Android app on ATV is how the buttons work. Like the back button, takes you f.ex. through the top menu (Movies/Suggestions/Trailers, etc) before you get back to the Home menu (Movies, Series, Collections and so on). And it is a little more laggy, but that I can leave with. It’s better, it works a good way for now. Edited December 28, 2022 by pettergulbra

Sorry, but cant find that setting. Either in ATV or Android. But still, rarely I need it.. But the WoL function would be nice to have build into the Android version to.

PeteGul 28 Posted December 28, 2022 Author Posted December 28, 2022 Offset: could not see it, was just to obvious... Blind Yes, both support WoL. But only the app for ATV sends the magic packet at startup. The Android app has to check, before you have to choose to wake it. 1
