Secure connection mode set to required but can still connect with http

Hi all,

I use cloudflare to put my emby behind a custom domain and ssl encryption. When inside the house I usually use app.emby.media (otherwise media gets uploaded to cloudflare and back to my home). However, even though secure connection is required I can still use app.emby.media outside my home network and use Emby. With chrome correctly flagging the connection as insecure. How can I prevent this, and how do I make sure the apps are using a secure connection?

Thanks!

Hi, have you customized any other emby server network settings?

You are required to input https://app.emby.media for online app otherwise http is used.  But dev would have to elaborate exactly what happens here.  But will look for previous topics.

Local sure, but remote also?

The hosted web app will still use your https address to connect regardless, but yes you do have to make sure to use the https version.

So the require secure connection for remote access does not count for app.emby.media?

It does in the sense that it will still connect to your server with your https address, no matter which web app version you use. I explained the challenges with this in the bottom of this thread here:
