Metadata issues.

I have for example 2 movies. Hercules and The legend of 1900. All movies are worng in metadata. emby shows like hercules cartoon and legend of 1900 like a chinese movie. Cover and cast. Everytime I change manual the metadata my library updates with the wrong one. curious things, on tmdb the movies are fine. only on emby it's screw the things. any advice? thanks!

the first one is actually the hercules from 2014, the movie and the second one is the legend of 1900, but is a chinese cartoon instead. the movies are the real ones but the metadata is totally wrong and the tmdb and imdb are wrong.

now I've selected only the movie database tmdb, in library without anything else like fanart, tmvb, etc  I only have selected tmdb. i don, t need to select all? i use tmdb for list.

Same as all the rest of TMDB result issues do to mass release dates.

Only looked at Hercules but TMDB returns 2 when querying year as the first one has a release date in 2014.

yep thats right. I did with Identify , but when my task scan the library, my identify is overridden and radarr repot as unmonitored.

Sorry no idea how the *arrs work but doesn't that suggest they are using the wrong id also?

But if you want Emby to use that id you need to follow the KB on foldername if you folders per movie or on file if all movies are in a folder.

my structure is /media/movies/Hercules (2014)/filename (movie file). If it`s Hercules (2014) can`t be Hercules (1997). Right? So something is broke... The movie it`s right but metadata is not. On TMdb is correct.

The issue is Emby is querying &query=Hercules&language=en&year=2014 but get multiple results shown in the hidden content above and the first result is the wrong result same as Identiify.  I don't know how much secondary checking is done behind the scenes as the correct result is the second result in this example.

To a point it is a defect on TMDB api as a movie from 1997 technically should not be on the list but their Release Date info skews the returned results.  We have brought if up with TMDB and they have tickets open.

 

@Lukecan we switch to &primary_release_year=xxxx instead of &year=xxxx?  As in this example it returned the Hercules as first item and left out the rogue 1997 version.  Wouldn't think there would be any side effects.  

Noticed it on this ticket.  But this ticket covers some of the same issues we see.

@Happy2Play alternatively with the movie search api we could switch from the year param to primary_release_year. That should be explored first but the big question there is whether it will be too restrictive or not.

But would suspect it would eliminate tolerance but will have to find some specific examples.
