Hi, this also a problem inside the local network? If you disable hardware transcoding, how does that compare?

I do not have an Express+ for testing on the local network.  It is occurring on a remote connection.

I will try disabling hardware transcoding and let you know.

If you still have the problem after this, Can you provide access to your server for testing? If yes then please PM me the server url, username, password, and name of the video to test. Thanks !

I would be happy to open up an account for you.  Let me attach a few files prior to see if it helps.

And also, does this only happen with recordings, or other video files as well?

This seems to only happen with certain (10.1 & 33.1 - not all) LiveTV channels.  Other channels will play with no problem at all.  Certain channels that create recordings will display the same problem, while recordings of other channels have no issue.  Media files all play with no issue.

The log files from this morning show the Living Room device playing channel 10.1 with no problems.  At the same time Bedroom was playing channel 10.1 and never really came to be watchable.

This afternoon, I disabled HW transcoding.  While there was some improvement, the spinning wheel (33%) of time suck appeared on several occasions.

I have been running the same computer hardware on the server since initial set-up of Emby (2016).  I have been running the HDHomeRun hardware for a few years now (2018).  These problems began just after the May update of the server

We may be on to something.  I have been playing around with transcoding options.

Set Hardware transcoding to off.  Slight improvement, in that, the video would begin, but would buffer often.  CPU utilization was under 40% entire time.

Set Hardware transcoding to Yes.  Video would not start and would error out in a minute or so.

Set Hardware transcoding to Advanced and set to only use QuickSync options.  Seems to have corrected the playback of Live TV.  Will have to wait and see what happens with recorded programs.  Will advise tomorrow.

I have attached the ffmpeg logs from the tests performed.  Maybe there is something in them that can narrow the problem down further.

The changes made to transcoding options have made a significant change.  Live TV on low end Roku devices is working once again.  Playback of recorded TV appears to be working as well.  Waiting for feedback from user on playback of recording on Roku TV.

I have disabled all DX11VA Decoder options.

I will report back on other issues in a new post.

THANKS!!! for the assistance.
