Hello everybody.

I'm new to the product: I'm trying to add the library by hooking up to my nas synology ds120j.

Browsing through the folders it shows me NAS structure... and then choosing the MUSIC folder doesn't hook anything.

What am I doing wrong?

I tried also to enter manually the IP address but it doesn't work.

HI, well you've only got the ip address there. Try entering the full path to the music library.

If the server is on the NAS then I would also suggest using the local path rather then the network path.

thank you so much for the speed.

In the meantime I had a doubt about the permissions..

and in fact I discovered that I had to give access to my "music" folder to the "system internal  user"  "emby".

Now works!!!

Thanks anyway, very kind.

Bye

Did you switch it to local paths rather than network paths? You'll get much better performance that way.

hi Luke,

what do you mean exactly? the name of my NAS?

\\nameofmynas?

or

\\volume1\music\mp3\2022

instead of \\192.168.1.3 ?

Thank you

The local path then optional share path.

Not a Synology user but example for Windows.  So yours would be something like /volume1/music.

Thank you very much

Now I'm using \\volume1\music

It's always very slow indexing /scanning library files...

I hope it will finish soon

Bye

Don't believe that is correct as it would not be a network share like that.  @FrostByte

You'll get better performance setting up the library with the direct path, so /volume1/music, (if that's what it is).
