unisoft 271 Posted October 3, 2022 Share Posted October 3, 2022 Took the 4.7.8.0 server update and my clients had SHOW FIELDS > Title ticked again when unticked for Movies, TV, Music Videos, Audiobooks libraries. Apologies for the disruption. No its worse than that! 1. Devices are all unticked under DEVICES in user options in server side yet its allowing all devices! 2. In client LG App, the ordering of libraries is messed up and does not even bother to save after you re-arrange them 3. Play next episode is happening even though option not enabled. I apologize for the temporary inconvenience, but we made the decision not to allow the LG release status to keep us from getting valuable improvements out. Even though the devices for a user account now show all as unticked, I ticked the TV one and now its refusing a login and acting like not allowed. Workaround for option 1 - HAVE to enable ALL devices (not good for security, this needs to be addressed) Workaround for option 2 - Go into USERS server side, and set preferences for the user and save them. unisoft 271 Posted October 4, 2022 Author Share Posted October 4, 2022 @Luke is there anyway you can push a minor update to fix the device list? It's a bit of a security issue having to tick "All Devices" as its broken in this update. You can try ticking specific devices, but they don't then get access and when you go back into the device access UI, theyre all unticked again. unisoft 271 Posted October 4, 2022 Author Share Posted October 4, 2022 In fact, looking around, you guys knew about this before releasing the update: So although not ideal in 4.6.7 and before, because you had to temporarily disable device restrictions to authenticate a new device (and keep it logged in) and then put back the restrictions afterwards, it's now broken altogether and requires giving all devices access all the time to a specific user. That's just plain sloppy! You really need to fix this before changing to another 'more perfect' way of doing device restrictions per user. It's been working previously. But as I said, before the update, in 4.6.7 this was working. You could restrict devices for a user account. This is now broken because a bug keeps unticking an specific device you set to have granted access. You can only workaround it by allowing All Devices which weakens security.
