Do you have to port forward xTeVe for Emby or plex in order to use it. I use Emby for live tv outside of my house using xTeVe. I wondering do I actually have to port forward xTeVe ports to stream live tv?

The night plex and other sites were hacked. My personal server was attacked as well and they gained access to xteve and deleted my TV channels. I had upwards of 200 connections from several contries and tor. Even after I blocked all the ip from those connected to my server. They change ip and do it again. I set up a complete Wan block to xteve except few white listed ip.  Curious what other ways everyone does to secure there network and media servers.

The only inbound port you need is 32400 for Plex and 8096 for emby if you want to access them from outside your network.

Otherwise Xteve and Plex/emby don't need anything open inbound, as all traffic will be outbound from Plex/emby to Xteve and out. Xteve doesn't need any ports open from the world
