stephen_hill 35
Hello The podcast plugin states that "This plugin will require an active Emby Premiere subscription after the 14 day free trial." I installed Emby Server on the 16th of August 2022, so according to this wording, I am currently in the 14 day free trial. However, after adding a number of podcast URLs, no podcast items appear in my library. Have I miss-understood something? ebr 14910
Hi. Did the "Refresh Internet Channels" task run to completion after you added those? If so, can we please see the Emby Server log from when that happened? Thanks.

ebr 14910
Hi. Had you ever installed Emby previously?
stephen_hill 35
Hi ebr Never. I have the server logs (syslog) for the first time emby-server was started, will pasting them here help? Cheers
ebr 14910
I guess it is possible that this is a very rare clash of a hash. Unfortunately, I don't know that there is anything we can do about it. If you PM me the "mb.lic" file from your EmbyServer/config folder, I can try.
stephen_hill 35
Hi ebr I cannot find this file under /var/lib/emby or any of it's sub directories. Do you want my serverid? Cheers Stephen
stephen_hill 35
This morning I tried a brand new install of emby on a completely new machine, on a different internet connection, different operating system (windows), exactly the same thing happens - the podcast plugin doesn't offer a trial period. 2022-08-24 09:05:51.991 Info Server: http/1.1 POST http://localhost:8096/emby/Plugins/8e791e2a-058a-4b12-8493-8bf69d92d685/Configuration?X-Emby-Client=Emby Web&X-Emby-Device-Name=Google Chrome Windows&X-Emby-Device-Id=10f999f8-8b88-45cc-984d-c2dd5481a6e7&X-Emby-Client-Version=4.7.6.0&reqformat=json. I have also noticed that the Trailers plugin also offer a trial, but this does not work either. (No relevant entries appear in the log) I'm going to suggest that if the trial system is broken and no development time will be put into it to fixing it, then you should remove "after the 14 day free trial." from anywhere it's mentioned. Many Thanks Stephen
ebr 14910
Can you please check again and see if it is different now?
stephen_hill 35
Hi ebr No change. I restarted the service. I re-run the scheduled task. Logs still say "Warn Channel: PodCasts trial has expired." FYI. I am going to buy a licence for Emby once I'm happy all the features I want to use are working correctly because this software is quite frankly amazing. Cheers Stephen
ebr 14910
Okay, thanks for trying again. I'm not sure why the trial isn't working for you. I know the basic trial system is working because it is working for new Android TV installs. Perhaps there is something just with the plug-ins or perhaps it is somehow related to your installation. stephen_hill 35
Thanks for taking a look ebr. Yes, my Amazon Fire TV Stick app says the trail expires on the 31st of August, so some aspect must be working. Based on the millisecond timestamps in the logs, I would guess the plugin isn't even attempting to contact your servers. Cheers Stephen
