701h 12
Hi all, I'm looking for advice on best practise to stream live TV from a PC with a tuner, to a server running Emby. Currently I have Emby running on a PC which has a Hauppauge TV card in it. That all runs fine obviously. I'd like to move the Emby server to a VM running on another box. I cant move the TV tuner card, so need the new Emby server to access the TV streams on the PC. What is the best solution for this? Is there an established method for migrating an Emby server from one installation to another? I don't want to have to set up all the libraries, users, plugins, and other settings that have been tweaked over the years. All the libraries are stored on networked storage, accessed via UNC path. justinrh 174
You might be able to use the IPTV plugin and add pointers to a specific channel in the WinTV server ("Extend") interface. The WinTV server is flaky, in my experience. Something like http://your.lan.ip:7799/stream?channel=5 It is clunky and not the real Emby experience... emveepee 112
Most of the Emby TV plugins support support Hauppauge tuners. Your bare metal host doesn't have to be Windows either. Martin
