It's a Philips TV with Android TV 2.0.77g. An example is Spiderman. Log: ffmpeg-transcode-1721a80c-8eee-4a4c-9171-f3d2902d6d02_1.txt Some 4k movies work. FrostByte 5042 Posted August 2, 2022 Share Posted August 2, 2022 (edited) Dolby Vision (DoVi or DV) profile 7 is comprised of Enhanced, RPU and HDR10 layers and is what you find on 4K UHD discs. DV profile 7 is designed so that HDR TVs which don't support DV can still play the HDR10 layer and still display a HDR picture while throwing out the rest. However, most DV TVs don't support DV profile 7 when played from internal apps because as I mentioned that was originally designed for UHD discs. Most apps when played by the actual TV only support DV profile 5 or profile 8. Though they should just throw out the DV parts when playing profile 7. What's strange about the error is that I think it's saying there are 2 RPUs in the one network abstraction layer unit (NALU). The RPU is the metadata which controls things like different luminance of scenes, etc. If I were to guess is that the TV just doesn't support DV7 and just not reverting to HDR10 so that's the error you're getting. You could try some DV profile 5 or profile 8 material and see if they work. That's just a WAG though and something you could try. Or, try other DV profile 7 material. However, you should really send the internal logs to @ebr right after you get the error. I'm sure he knows a lot more than me. but what I noticed: doesn't work: Dolby Vision, Version 1.0, dvhe.08.06, BL+RPU, HDR10 compatible / SMPTE ST 2086, HDR10 compatible (is it Profile 8?) work: SMPTE ST 2086, HDR10 compatible I will check it again and confirm/correct it. Yes, that's DV profile 8 which has a HDR10 backup track also. See if you can find a DV profile 5 format movie or show. Profile 5 is for things like Disney+, Netflix, etc and has no HDR10 layer at all, just the DV layers. Basically, all the streaming services use DV5 and if your TV supports DV then it should at least support profile 5 when played from an internal app. Post what you find. Internal logs of course will help. If the DV profile 7/8 is the issue, then I would think it should at least fallback to the HDR10 layer of those two profiles. I try it, if I get one. Try to get those logs to the devs though, that would be the only way to know for sure.
