Clarification on trailers function on Roku

My desire is to have trailers for just my existing library of movies. I have this working vial web browser and Android phone. The trailer option button appears .right next to the play button. It is a wonderful feature! The Roku does not display this button. I see that I must have local setup of the trailer option for the Roku to work. Does this mean I will have to download the actual video file (trailer) and store it locally? If so, why?

Thanks in advance,

Jack

Hi.  Yes.  This is due to the fact that the Roku OS can only run one app at a time and has no way to (legally) "embed" a YouTube video within an app.  So there is no way for us to show you the YouTube video without completely closing our app and making you re-enter it.

This is a real Bummer. How does Emby on Roku play the trailers from Include trailers from new and upcoming movies, and Netflix?
