horstepipe 356
Hello I'd like to understand what is happening here. Some years ago I tagged my movies with specific nominations, e.g. Cannes - Palme d’or This was on an old Emby server, but the info was being written into the .nfo files. But I do NOT see the locked field for tags into the info. Now on my current Emby server I'm still seeing that info as expected - but as I said it is NOT being locked. But if I refresh the metadata for that movie (or for all movies), the tag stays there - don't get me wrong, in this case this is good. But I expected to readd the tags after refreshing my metadata for all movies. So why does this happen? And generally I'm having some inconsistency here now. If I tag a new item, the tag value gets locked (on gui and in the .nfo). But for the old films these values somehow seem to be locked without my knowledge. Luke 36886
The auto locking when you edit is a newer thing that was added during 4.6.

Okay but the tags behave like locked but are not marked as locked…?
Luke 36886
Because they're a little different than other data. They're used defined.
horstepipe 356
just seeing a similar issue for movie genres. If I delete the genre locked field and a previously added genre in .nfo manually, the genre is not being deleted. Neither after a library scan. Is this expected for similar reasons? horstepipe 356
Here is an example: I'm having the movie The Accidental Spy - and I'm adding this to the .nfo file: <lockedfields>Genres</lockedfields> <genre>Test</genre> the changes are applied as expected. But if I remove these entries from nfo again, they are not.

If you mean the genres - no - there are still other genres in the .nfo file but the test one is still there.

Could you or anybody who understands that sentence elaborate the meaning please?
Happy2Play 8144
@horstepipe Pretty sure there was another topic on this as you can manually edit nfo files to add field but cannot completely remove field by manual edit. So changing from say 3 genres to 1 will work but 3 to 0 will not.

Thanks! okay but this doesn’t work here either. I will open a separate thread about it.

Hi Luke, I just became aware of the auto-lock feature recently... I use an external scrapper for images and such before the files are copied over to my Emby movies directory. Am I correct in assuming that this (the adding of images beforehand) is what causes the movie to autolock? If so, is there a way to disable that feature or make it optional. A problem arises because all my new media is autolocked which prevents other scheduled addons like TimeScraper from being able to modify the metadata. If its not a feature, count my vote to make it one as I'd love to be able to turn off the autolock.

It writes "locked" to your nfo files unless you disable it in the settings.
