Unable to record with Colossus 2

Hello - I recently had to re-install my Colossus 2 and all related software. I am able to successfully record scheduled shows using WinTV, and I have re-added the Colossus 2 as a TV source to Emby, and yet when I try to record a program via Emby it fails. Hi, did you manually install the portable server into C:\Program Files?

That means the server's program data path is at:

Data path: C:\Program Files\Emby-server\programdata

This is normally going to be readonly, and if the server can't write to it's own data folder then this will cause major problems.

You need to move that to somewhere else where the server will have write access.

I guess I don't understand why it can't write to that directory. I have Emby server configured to launch as a service running under the local system account which has full control of that folder, and all sub-folders and files.

Because windows normally makes it readonly regardless of that. They don't intend for programs to put data files underneath there.

Interesting. So sounds like I need to download the exe version of Emby server, which will install everything under my user directory, which I was trying to avoid. Can I at least copy over the programdata folder so I don't need to rebuild my libraries?

You don't. Just move it out of the Program Files folder, as @Luke suggested above, for example to ProgramData or create new folder under C:\ drive.

OK, so I relocated Emby Server to the root of the C:\ drive, but Emby still can't record with my Colossus 2 although it works fine with WinTV scheduled recordings. Here's a log of my latest attempt at a scheduled recording after relocating Emby Server:

I figured this out. All I needed to do is increase the LiveTV buffer in WinTV from zero to 1 minute, and that fixed it. I guess Emby needs to read the buffer in order to record with the Colossus 2.
