I just recently set up a file server running Open Media Vault and I saw that you can run your Emby Server on that. But I am confused at how to install it because it has no graphic interface and I manage it remotely with the Web UI that is provided with it. I would like to install it on there and then move all of my movies to it so that it is no longer reliant on my desktop computer. If someone could please provide me with the details on how to install it, I would greatly appreciate it.

HI there, what are you asking exactly, how to transfer your media from your desktop PC to your open media vault machine?

Find instructions here:  https://emby.media/open-media-vault-server.html, both options assume you are familiar with using Linux from the command line.

Today most folks would recommend running Emby in a docker container.  But you could also install it directly on your Debian OMV system (use the package labeled Ubuntu):

Ubuntu X64
  1. Download emby-server-deb_4.7.5.0_amd64.deb  (you could use # wget https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.Releases/releases/download/4.7.5.0/emby-server-deb_4.7.5.0_amd64.deb)
  2. dpkg -i emby-server-deb_4.7.5.0_amd64.deb
  3. Open a web browser to http://localhost:8096

I'm running Emby with OMV 6 with no issues.
