liamlovesyou 1
Got a Hisense U6G Android TV version where I have Emby for Android TV. Direct playing random 1080p files with subtitles, randomly pauses playback. Not sure if it's a common issue with lower powered Android TV clients. Can provide logs if needed! Luke 36879
@liamlovesyou Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!
liamlovesyou 1
Hi Luke, Don't see any errors, just Info Server log that reports it's playing. I'll let it play and check back the logs in a few.
liamlovesyou 1
Sorry for the delay @Luke, I was playing a movie without subtitles and it just kept randomly pausing, subtitles don't seem to be the issue here. Have more than enough bandwidth to stream the file. Got the exact time the issue occurred with the logs 2022-06-23 19:08:16.048 Info Server: http/1.1 POST http://192.168.1.237:8096/emby/Sessions/Playing/Progress. GrimReaper 3226
Hey up, Considering it's DirectPlaying, in-app logs might give some more insight, from the above link: Quote Emby for Android TV/Fire TV and Emby for Roku Logs These apps have the option to send an app log to us electronically. You enter the settings page and turn on the "Debug Options". Now there will be a new tile on your home page settings row (or menu option on the user menu at the top) labelled "Send Log". Reproduce your problem and then use this button to send the log. Then add the following information to your report in the forum: Exactly what you were doing and what happened. Include the name of whatever you played if it is a playback problem The time you sent the log (in Eastern Time please - UTC -5) The name of the Emby user on the local server that was logged in at the time Cheers

ebr 14857
Hi. It looks like some sort of temporary network glitch - or perhaps something slowing down delivery on the server for some reason. 06-23 21:07:21.093 5612 5612 E EventLogger: Caused by: java.net.SocketTimeoutException: timeout Are you using the wireless connection built into the TV? liamlovesyou 1
Yes, I am. Despite being right next to the router, the TVs ethernet port is limited to 100/100 LOL. Should get ~600 up/down to the TV wireless though. Can run a speedtest!

What would extra 500 Mbps bring if you won't be ever using them anyway? Edited June 24, 2022 by GrimReaper

GrimReaper 3226
Then I'd guess you can safely exclude WiFi as being the only culprit and look for some systemic network-wide issue or check delivery side: was your server busy with some other tasks? Where is your media stored? Are you running any other service that might create excessive network traffic? Does your router have some QoS setting enabled that might interfere? liamlovesyou 1
I was running intro detection, the media is stored on shucked HDDs directly connected to the motherboard, I am not running any service that would interfere with Emby. Qos is disabled. Not sure what it could be tbh

liamlovesyou 1
This still occurs, I've noticed it now on my Shield TV directly running direct connection to router, local play, direct play. No idea what's causing it. I've sent logs again at 4:18 pm, same issue as last time, it just paused for 0 reason and resumed 10-15 seconds later. ebr 14857
Same thing in your logs: 06-29 16:18:15.070 19681 19681 E EventLogger: Caused by: java.net.SocketTimeoutException: timeout There is no way, unfortunately, for us to determine why that occurred. Perhaps the version currently in Google review will make a difference since it does update Exoplayer.
