Would it be possible to allow users to modify their libraries folder path.

I just purchase a new router, Airport extreme, and while configuring I realized apple only allows users to pick one of the three pre config ip ranges. None of them matches the range I had before. Mediabrowser unc path was set using the nas box ip address. Now It's a totally disaster, after I added the paths to the server hostname (can't make the same mistake twice), mbs starts to add the same contents all over again. It's been two hours.

Hopefully if implemented, it may help someone else.

Stupidness. Now I have to go around changing everything I have configured with ip addresses.

Use machine name this time. ;)

I did :D

That's why I said 'after I added the paths to the server hostname (can't make the same mistake twice),'

Any chance of getting it implemented?

3 hours 55% :)

Honestly, I'm not sure exactly what you are asking for but our entire item identification scheme is based on the path so if the path changes, every item in that path is a different item.

I guess that answers my question. Since the contents are still the same even though the path changes I figure there is a way for it to tell it's already have in database. I have to deal with the same crap with xbmc. I want to see how it handles library path changes.

The contents don't matter.  The way we can uniquely identify something is via its path (just like the OS).  So, if the path is different, it is a different item.

Do you identify each item (so each movie, song etc.) by the _full_ path? or only the path relative to base path defined by the included directory in the libraries section of the configuration? I would hope the latter? In this case it should be as easy as editing the base path added to the library to the new location?

No, it is full path because anything else would not be guaranteed to be unique across the system.
