Hi there,

I'm running Emby on a DS918+ running DSM 7.1.

I have a folder of photos in the following folder: /volume1/homes/chris/Pictures/Photos

When I attempt to browse to that folder in the select path window, I can click on the /volume1 selection and then when I browse down to the homes selection and click on the right arrow the browse window disappears and the Folder entry in the select path window is empty. Here is the sequence via screen grabs:

1.thumb.JPG.24972883b10aaaa23b37fc2958457188.JPG

2.thumb.JPG.13fee6acf24580df5529bfc30c9293e9.JPG

3.thumb.JPG.8d10f6e3144c6a1a6a64c23ce9ad01ae.JPG

If I type the path into the Folder selection, it will accept the path but Emby doesn't find any photos.

Any words of wisdom?

Thanks,

Chris

Check your permissions for that folder. 99% that emby user does not have permissions to access it.

  • 2 weeks later...

Changed permission to the entire folder.  Rebooted Synology box.  No difference.

This is showing Local Users in the drop down box.  And per the linked topic/Tutorial you need to look at System Internal User.  But the username should be factor also.

But this is a documented change in DSM 7.

Make sure you look at the part circled in red of the first pic of the link I gave you.

Also, I would delete the old local userid 'embysrv" for security reasons.  It's unneeded.  Or, at least disable it.
