Kent 91 Posted September 28, 2014 Share Posted September 28, 2014 Hi all, So I need some help and guidance from all of you that are using Live TV with Roku's and other clients that require transcoding via MBS and ServerWMC. I have a AMD A6-6400 and I get, at best, 1 transcode at a time out of it. Even in this case, many times the CPU can't keep up with a single transcode to a Roku and the Roku is constantly re-loading the TS files. So I'm looking for advice as to what processor I should look into for a new server build, I5, I7? In addition to Live TV, I do occasionnaly see transcoding for movies and shows that are not in ideal format (to Roku, Andriod and IOS devices). So ideally the new build should be able to handle transcoding workload for several devices concurrently for Live TV and local content playback. Any feedback is much appreciated!
