neptunepic 11
Hi all, I just setup a new Emby server on MacOS and for some reason when I delete media from the Emby apps on any device, the file doesn't show in the Trash. As you can see in the attached screenshot, the Trash appears to be empty but CCleaner shows the deleted files. Any idea what's going on here? Why don't the deleted files show in the Trash folder like normal?
Luke 37008
HI, that's a good question. We do use a native macOS function to send files to the trash, so I'm not sure. Maybe you need to refresh the view in Finder?
neptunepic 11
@Luke I think I figured out what's happening. If the Trash is empty and you delete anything from within the emby app, the deleted files will not show up when you open the trash and the trash icon will not change. If however, you have even one other file already in the trash that was deleted via the MacOS finder, and THEN you delete something from emby, everything will show in the trash as it should. I've been able to reproduce this several times in my testing. Is this a bug in the way Emby deletes files or a problem with MacOS?
Luke 37008
That's interesting. Thanks for the info.
neptunepic 11
@Luke I'm running stable version 4.7.1, is it possible this could be fixed on beta 4.8?
Luke 37008
It won't be any different on 4.8.
