ATSC 3.0 Sound dropouts

something I noticed when playing back ATSC 3.0 channels on Chrome with Google TV.  it does not happen when playing back ATSC 3.0 channels on the Roku app.  The sound will be fine for minutes at a time, then it will just cut out for a second then come back.  I will try to see if it happens on a regular Android TV box as well.  Let me know what else you need.

I experimented with different bit rates, and the break ups went away.  funny thing is is that its sound only.  not video.

Guessing, whichever it is, it is this:

16:31:17.472 Error while decoding stream #0:2: Invalid data found when processing input

Does it make a "pop" noise or just drop-out?

right. not an audible pop (my wife's description).  it just drops out.

I've been watching ATSC 3.0 channel on the Emby app for Samsung for a while now, and no drops in sounds.  It's possible that its the TV?!?  I tried the Chromecast with Google TV on the Samsung, and I thought it was experiencing drops.  I was going to test the Onn android box on the Hitachi in the kitchen to see if it is doing it as well.  I'll let you know.

same issues with the Onn box on the kitchen Hitachi.  Going to try it on the Samsung in the Den.  More to follow:

different error on the Samsung, but same blank spot in the sound.  This with Android TV on the Onn device connected to a Samsung TV:

Hi, if you play from the Emby web app, how does that compare?

it seems to only happen with Android/Google TV.  I've kind of given up on it and gone back to strictly Roku.  That's a bummer, because my Roku TV in the kitchen drops the network, and the router is like 5 feet away.  🙄

Right now.  None of my ATSC 3.0 channels are playing due to another issue I posted about 🤷‍♂️

Are you still having an issue with this?

I'm still on server 4.8.0.2.  that's the last server I have that will play ATSC 3.0 channels here in Atlanta.  I did notice that the dropouts do not happen on my Roku devices.  They seem to be happening on Android/Google TV devices.   Seems OK on Samsung TV native apps as well.

Just tested my Android phone and a ATV device, neither will play ATSC3 stations on Emby still.

honestly, Luke, I think this is more hardware related.  I was getting the sound drop outs on my dinky Roku TV in the kitchen, and I get it sometimes on the Chromecast with Google TV, but I can tell that is just network related.  So, I think we can put this one to bed.
