777Aion777 0
I've got the same issue (I think.) My emby server works on my laptop at 'localhost:8096', and looks as if everything is ok but now my android phone cant connect to the server using the emby app. A couple of days ago everything was working fine, no idea why I cant connect now. I've tried restarting* my router, emby server, both laptop and phone, and ive opened the 8096 and 8920 ports on my laptops firewall settings. It still doesn't work. Luke 36879
@777Aion777 Hi, try doing a manual connection from the emby Android app by entering the server address manually and see if that helps. Thanks.

OK, I would suggest taking a look at our Connection Troubleshooter: https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001849007-connectivity Please try the steps listed there and let us know which ones succeed and which ones do not. Thanks.

Thanks. I openned TCP ports 8096 and 8920, I ran an antivirus scan, I don't have any VPN's to disable. I still can't connect to my emby server from my android device from the same network connection
Luke 36879
Can you show us screenshots of how you setup port forwarding?

Is port forwarding necessary for an Internal Connection? I didn't think it was since I never did anything about port forwarding and I've been connecting to my emby server from my phone with no issues for over a year now
Luke 36879
For a local network connection it's not necessary, no.
Luke 36879
You could have a firewall on the server machine that is preventing access from other devices.

As far as I can see everything Emby related is allowed to communicate through the firewall, including ports 8096 and 8920

On the laptop hosting the server: Control Panel -> Windows Firewall -> Allowed applications All apps mentioning Emby are allowed, as well as the ports that I opened when I was following the connectivity troubleshooting guide
