fcimeson 11
Hello I have side loaded emby on my Amazon Fire and I'm not able to use the "play on" or "remote control" options for this device. Oddly enough I have this feature working on my older Amazon Fire. Version: Emby for Android 3.2.44 Newer Amazon Fire that doesn't work: Fire HD 10 11th Gen (2021) Older Amazon Fire that does work: Fire HD 10 7th Gen (2017) Any help? Luke 36878
Hi there, what exactly happens when you try?
fcimeson 11
It doesn't show up on my list of options to cast to. Furthermore, I renamed a device that I thought could have a name conflict and it was never reflected on my list of options but the device in question (Frank's 2nd Fire) has the same casting list. (Frank's Fire should now read Kitchen Amazon Fire) Edited April 8, 2022 by fcimeson
fcimeson 11
Also, why does the Amazon Fire show up twice (casting to either one goes to the same device).
Luke 36878
Was the app open and signed in when you tested this and it didn't show up?

fcimeson 11
Yup (same user), like I said I get the same list of available devices to cast to on both devices. Edited April 9, 2022 by fcimeson

Luke 36878
Please attach the emby server log from when you tried to do this. Thanks.
fcimeson 11
Here you go. I looked through the logs but I can only find one amazon fire tablet and it's name seems to be chosen by emby as opposed to using the tablet's name. Perhaps this is why it doesn't work? Is emby trying to use the same name for both devices?. embyserver.txt
Luke 36878
Have you gotten the 3.2.47 Emby app update? Has that helped?
fcimeson 11
I'm on 3.2.52. As far as updates, I don't know how that works since I manually load it without the playstore.
